Water + Energy Forward Brokers AT&T Purchase of Carbon Credits From Carbon X’s Walker Ranch Project
October 8, 2026 – Water + Energy Forward, Inc. (W+E Forward) is pleased to announce that it served as broker for AT&T’s recent purchase of carbon credits from Carbon X’s Walker Ranch Project, a methane-abatement initiative focused on permanently reducing emissions from legacy oil and gas wells.
Legacy methane wells were a deliberate first use case for W+E Forward. The intervention is site-specific, engineered, monitorable, and capable of producing a verified environmental asset — making it well suited to a market-based approach to environmental improvement.
The Walker Ranch Project has been featured as an AT&T Gigaton Spotlight, highlighting the role connectivity can play in enabling measurable emissions reductions. Carbon X identifies methane sources, permanently plugs leaking wells, and verifies the resulting emissions reductions. AT&T connectivity links remote sites, field crews, sensors, monitoring systems, and verification workflows, supporting the data and transparency necessary for credible environmental markets.
W+E Forward served as the intermediary in the transaction, helping bring together the project developer and corporate buyer within a structure built around measurable and verified environmental outcomes.
That intermediary role is central to W+E Forward’s mission. Environmental projects often require developers, buyers, verifiers, technology partners, and capital providers to work together around credible data and a viable commercial structure. W+E Forward helps assemble those elements, connecting environmental solutions with the market demand and capital needed to move them forward.
